About the Journal

Ussnan is an international scientific journal published by the Centre for Research in Amazigh Language and Culture, situated in Béjaïa, Algeria. It provides, biannually, a publication space devoted exclusively to the Amazigh domain in all of its manifestations through a plethora of diverse specialisations and fields including: language, Tamazight didactics and metalanguage, Amazigh civilisation, literature, arts, and Amazigh heritage, terminology, translation along with automatic Amazigh language processing. Ussnan offers expertly chosen material. Tamazight is given precedence over materials written in French, Arabic, and English. Its biannual publication will have a Varia section and be open to proposals for special issues for conference proceedings or other topical publications. It will also not preclude special editions. As long as Tamazight remains at the centre of scientific interest and the proposed studies are original, unpublished, and adhere to the standards of academic writing, Ussnan gladly accepts proposals for articles from the scientific community, from seasoned or beginner researchers, from Algeria or elsewhere. Ussnan is an open access journal, entirely free to publish, with a reading committee. It evolved because of a deep-seated, passionate desire to provide Tamazight and other scholars in the field-especially PhD students—with a platform for scientific publication that would solely be beneficial to them.
