Adaptation or transewriting in the theatre of Djamal Benaouf : Bu Tfuset and Aneggaru ad yerr tawwurt as examples.
Abstract
One of the pioneers of Kabyle theatre is Djamal Benaouf, particularly for his adaptations of the exquisite works of universal authors like Taoufik Alhakim and Gothé. The purpose of this article is to analyse the processes used by this writer, who is also an actor and director, in his Kabyle adaptations of highly esteemed, internationally known plays. These multifaceted adaptations have been refined and worked on from a synthetic and syntactical perspective. The author Benaouf effectively incorporated the Kabyle imagination into the core of these adapted works.
