Semantic Doublets and Their Usage in the Amazigh Version of the Algerian Constitution

This article outlines instances wherein the translators of the Algerian Constitution into the Amazigh language resorted to the use of semantic doublets. Our analysis seeks to highlight the factors that lead translators to employ this device, both in the translation of texts and in writing more broadly. We further propose adequate solutions to enable translators to avoid resorting to this device, which frequently generates comprehension issues as well as challenges with the form and style of specialized texts in general, and legal texts in particular.
